Vogue Knitting App Reviews

On the whole, an attractive app, but it works by enabling you to buy issues of the Vogue magazines and books. These do not download easily when bought and when downloaded, some of them cannot be opened at all. Theyre not extremely expensive, but still when one buys something, it would be nice to be able to access it...!

I have bought at least 4 issues of Vogue Knitting and darn if I can ever find the app or the issues. Very dissappointed!

The only thing missing are links from the models to the individual instructions!

This app has potential but is extremely frustrating as it crashes VERY often. I will wait for an upgrade and test it myself before I spend another $4.99 to almost read a magazine. Too bad since there are so many good iPad apps for reading magazines. Instead of badly re-inventing something that doesnt work, why not use an existing portal like Zinio. At the very least, they could have tested it before unleashing another half-baked app on the unsuspecting public.

I love Vogue Knitting magazine, and love the idea of having my issues in my iPad but this app crashes all the time!!! Please fix this!

I too love the concept of digital interactive magazines but I can only get some pages of the Spring issue and others remain blank. Please fix and Ill subscribe. Its really cool to click on a link while reading and to use the 360 view to see an item.

I installed the app and bought the spring edition, but I cant open the mag. All I get is an offer to buy it again.

While this is a good app for browsing a magazine it is pretty useless for a knitting magazine. When someone buys a copy of Vogue Knitting they need to be able to make a copy of a pattern that they wish to knit. This is so that you can make notes, etc on the pattern while knitting the project. There is no way to do this. All you can do is browse the magazine. If it was possible to export pages into a PDF file for printing or use in a PDF write app then this would be good. As it is I will stick to purchasing my vogue magazines as hardcopies.

Great concept, unfortunately execution of this app falls shot. I wish I had read the review about the inability prior to purchasing a single issue, Big Mistake. I agree you need to be able to print a hard copy of a pattern to make noted and follow more complicated pattern charts. Emailing pattern pages to yourself only produces a blurry output. This app is only good for browsing, which is not the main purpose for purchasing an issue. Im going back to occasionally purchasing a hard copy of issues.

I love the 360° views attached to the photos. Really lets you get a good idea of what the finished product looks like. Still a little glitchy, hopefully this will get fixed in upcoming updates.

Magazine is great but you cant print any patterns, which makes it pretty useless. I like to knit while I travel. You cant knit and balance an I-pad very well while flying economy.

The purchases you make on your iPad dont automatically sync to your iPhone! I had to delete my iPhone app, reinstall it, and choose "restore purchases"

Its an ok app but you cant save to Goodreader or other app or print. You can only email screenshots to yourself. Talk about clunky. Also, in the index you can click to be taken to a certain page but once there, you cant click to go back or to go directly to the project instructions page. Instead you have to swipe up and scroll through the pages. Problem is that most of the time, the swipe-up function doesnt work. The links to the 360 views is cool but Id rather be able to save PDFs to GoodReader and navigate more easily. Thumbs down on this one, folks. Hopefully the updates will rectify these problems.

I bought this app last year, excited to have my knitting magazine with me. Right away it crashed, then crashed some more. Cant get help because theres no direct link to any help built into the app. I had a years subscription and it started telling me I had to buy issues I had already subscribed to. It lost my downloads forcing me to download everything again, then froze. Also it automatically set my subscript up for a yearly renewal and then told me I could change that once I went into my account. Do you think I could get into my account to cancel the subscription? No, it doesnt recognize my info. And then theres no way to retrieve your username or password. A year later I tried to cancel the renewal without any luck. Updates have been done to the app but still no way to retrieve user name, password or get help. I have sent numerous emails this last week to Vogue to two different sites and it keeps taking me back to the magazine website. Of course it doesnt recognize anything because I dont have a subscription to the paper magazine. I have had it. If I dont get some help soon Im lodging a major complaint with iTunes and asking for my money back. This is ridiculous in this day and age to design an app that is so difficult to use for the simplest things. It feels like a Vogue Knitting conspiracy to keep subscribers against their will. Now I know why so many people rate this app as "hate it". Ive added myself to the list even though I waited a year to see if anything would get fixed on it. Useless.

It crashes whenever i try loading the entrelac edition and another reference edition. I want my money back for the books as i cant open and use them anymore. Do something with this app, people! I bought this app last year hoping that bugs will be fixed. Looks like Vogue doesnt seem to care about customers - it is one of the worst newsstand apps.

You cannot print the patterns out clearly, even when ailing them to oneself. If you think Im going to knit a pattern from this small screen, youre nuts! Waste of money.

I have to keep going to the App Store and searching for it and opening it -- otherwise, great idea. Dont know why this is happening. VK Books app works fine, but the mags app wont load as an icon.

Ever since the last update, I couldnt open the app. It was crashing as soon as soon as it opens up !?!? I have been subscribed for years, but I couldnt read my magazines :( FIXED: I have deleted and reinstalled the app...then restored all my purchases, and downloaded all the issues. Took some time...but...It is working now!!!

This app has some nice features like the 360 view of the knitted garment. But you cant print out the pattern instructions. Which is handy to make notes on and take to the yarn shop. My tablet is awkward to drag around shopping or pickup in the middle of a row especially when the screen times out. Please update this app with a print option for pattern instructions.
